If you ever want vindication of the folly and moral bankruptcy of the Kosovo War (motivated in the best muddled aspirations of Left Liberals by intense guilt over Srebriniza, which was an ENTIRELY different conflict for ENTIRELY different circumstances), one need only look at the ultimate outcome of Milosovic's War Crimes trial - he dropped dead in his cell in The Hague, shortly before verdicts and sentencing were read.
He was about to be found Not Guilty, or substantially Not Guilty, or substantially so on the key core charges of his indictment, with witness after witness coming forward to say that although as President of the rapidly disintegrating rump Serb Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and a Serb himself, he lent moral and occasionally logistical and material support to the irregular Serb forces within the breakaway Yugoslav republics, he was President of a (ever diminishing) sovereign state, and they were the proclaimed breakaway Serb nation within those former republics and territories, perusing the national and sectarian interest of Serbs in the former Yugoslavia and not the current Yugoslavia - Milosovic asserted and maintained no direct control and certainly no command over the political or military direction of Radovan Karadžić or Ratko Mladić.
This can get very confusing without maps.
The Human Rights lawyers of The Hague were guilty of one of the most heinous instances of White Liberal racism - they assumed that because Milosovic was the leader of the rump Serb-dominated Yugoslav republic and trying to prevent (for years) the breakup of his nation by outside (mostly German) foreign interests, he had to be knowledgable and responsible for ALL the actions and policy of ethnic cleaning being practiced by Serb volunteer armies acting OUTSIDE of the new Yugoslavia, in Bosnia-Herzogovina and elsewhere.
He wasn't. Or at least the demonstrable proof that he was, was inconclusive bordering on non-existent.
Milosovic was tried in The Hague for being a Serb. For guilt by association.
And a Genocide in Kosovo that wasn't happening (at least until the NATO Bombing Campaign began).
And it was Left Liberals and Human Rights lawyers like Samantha Power who took that decision and ran with it way beyond the point where their ever increasing shrillness and constant demonising began to show their real motives to have turned to something truly and completely ugly.
So Milosovic dropped dead in his cell - snake venom, CIA heart attack gun, cancer virus.... Who knows?
I was told of it the day it happened by a friend of mine - he's Bosnian. He and his family got out in 1994 and no fan of the Serbs, or several of the other factions who forced him and his family out;
"The CIA just killed Milosovic", he told me, "He knew too much, they couldn't let him talk".
Quite right - but we should always remember that he mid-level strata of CIA, the career case officers, project leaders, department heads, the Civil Service non-political appointee lifers are by and large ALL Eastern Establishment Left Liberals from the Ivy League and the Eastern Seaboard.
And Millosovic was a profound embarrassment to these people - they are on their way to crafting Bashar Assad in exactly the same way, without ever probably realising it.
